L’Assemblée générale des Nations-Unies a adopté le 10 mai 2018 la résolution ouvrant les négociations vers le Pacte mondial pour l’environnement.
Cette résolution intervient après la présentation du texte du Pacte par le Président de la République française, Emmanuel Macron, en septembre 2017 en marge de la 72ème session de l’Assemblée générale des Nations Unies. Un groupe de travail spécial, à la composition non limitée et ouvert à la participation des ONG, est ainsi créé afin d’examiner le rapport du Secrétaire général et de discuter des moyens possibles de remédier aux lacunes éventuelles du droit international de l’environnement.

The United Nations General Assembly adopted on May 10, 2018 the resolution opening the negotiations towards a Global Pact for the Environment.
This resolution comes after the presentation of the text of the Pact by the French President, Emmanuel Macron, in September 2017 in the margins of the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly. A special ad hoc Open-ended Working Group, opened to NGO participation, is established to consider the report of the Secretary General and to discuss options to address possible gaps in international environmental law and environment-related instruments.
